The American Austrian Foundation deeply mourns the passing of our great friend and esteemed Chairman Emeritus, Ambassador William vanden Heuvel. Bill’s wide-ranging international interests, arising from his love of his Dutch heritage, included his strong support for educational, cultural and diplomatic exchanges between the United States and Austria. He was particularly dedicated to the work of AAF’s Open Medical Institute, which trains thousands of doctors each year from resource-poor countries, improving and saving the lives of millions. |
